OPDC teamed up with Architecture 00 (zero zero) to produce a research report that highlights the diversity of Old Park Royal’s businesses, as well as exploring areas we can work with businesses to support a thriving local economy and community.
We spoke to local businesses and organisations to understand how they operate, what their needs are, and how the buildings in the area are used.
We produced a research report which you can read here.
It covers:
the history of Old Park Royal
the ethnic and cultural diversity of Old Park Royal and their importance to businesses, and those who live and work in the area,
the rich sector mix of businesses in the area from food manufacturers to auto traders and;
the type of space available for businesses to use.
The report is concluded with a number of recommendations made to OPDC to support minority ethnic owned businesses and the Old Park Royal area better.
We also identified opportunities for design improvements, and small capital grants (£50,000 in total) were made available to businesses to make improvements to the fronts of buildings and signage, helping people access these businesses more easily.
