Our work around Old Oak Towpath
We are bringing forward new access to the towpath on Old Oak Common Lane and improvements to the public space around it, to make it accessible and attractive for the community and canal users. To prepare our plans, we consulted closely with the community though online public consultation and with OPDC’s Design Review Panel.
The improvements we are bringing forward at the towpath include:
Step free access onto the towpath for wheelchairs, pushchairs and bicycles
Improved greenery and planting for wildlife to thrive
In keeping design with the character of the canal, using materials from local businesses.
Get involved
This work will be completed in Autumn 2022.
Keep an eye out for these improvements and make the most of the canal side when you're next in the area.
