North Acton Square
The Republic Community Projects has been granted a five-year lease by the London Borough of Ealing to revitalise and enliven North Acton Square.
The Republic Community Projects is working closely with Ealing Council and OPDC to create a social space for residents and visitors that showcases the very best North Acton and nearby Park Royal have to offer. It is jointly funded by Imperial College London, OPDC, City & Docklands, ADD, Tide Construction and Downing.
New containers have been installed on the north side of the square, near the station entrance. These will house both new and existing local businesses, including:
Existing coffee vendor, Awakener Coffee (currently operating from a cart in the square)
Street food vendor Sound Burger
A barbershop, Hamsa the Barber
A Micro Pub, Old Oak Tap
A shop selling local products, Supermegahyperdupermarketmetroexpress
There will also be a new community studio unit, a hub for the Park Royal Design District, and a gardener’s shed to support local gardening groups in maintaining green spaces in North Acton. In addition, improvements are being made to the square’s setting:
Overgrown planting are being cut back to open up views from Victoria Road
Graffiti has been removed
A deep clean has been carried out to create a more welcoming and pleasant environment
