OPDC Validation Checklist 2026 Consultation
OPDC is consulting on a draft Validation Checklist which sets out the information needed to support a planning application. The checklist also includes guidance to explain when each document is required. The consultation takes place between 8th May 2026 and 19th June 2026.
Purpose of the Validation Checklist
As the local planning authority for the Old Oak and Park Royal area, we are required to produce a Validation Checklist which outlines the documents required to be submitted with a planning application.
Legislation and government guidance provides local planning authorities with advice on validation requirements. The guidance states that the list must be:
reasonable, having regard in particular to the nature and scale of the proposed development; and
about a matter that it is reasonable to think will be a material consideration in the determination of the application.
The local planning authority must consult on the draft validation checklist and then formally publish the document having taken any representations into consideration. A copy of the checklist must be made available on the authority’s website.
